Today is Day 1 of our season 2017 2018…. Monday 4h September 2017.
If you are new to us we run an advanced football programme for children aged 5 to 18.
Players receive weekly technical football coaching from experienced, qualified, DBS checked coaches.
Players can also be selected for our county and elite squads where training is focused on take the technical base into a tactical environment.
We aim to improve every young person who comes into our programme.
We want players to work outside their comfort zone and focus on developing as an individual. We do not run teams in a league, we leave that to the football league and premier league clubs. We are independent and have good links with most clubs where our centres are based.
Our passion is football we can not wait to get started with the new season!!
Our sessions begin with ball manipulation and rondos. We aim to raise the tempo of our session quickly and move on to our technical focus. In week 1 for our outfield players that focus is on Dominating 1v1 situations. This is a chance for players to practice, practice, practice attacking and defending in those 1v1 situations. It’s an area all clubs will assess and important our players develop a good understanding of what is required.
It is not about beating players with step over or 360 spins. We do not discourage creativity but when you look at the top Premier League players it is simple, quick and moves which have a high success rate. We will encourage players to perfect and increase their speed in simple cuts and feints. That is the reality of how we beat players at the top level. It is this technical information we will focus on.
Our outfield players have a full weekly syllabus which they work on, this will help them understand and develop in the way we want them to play the game.
Goalkeepers also have a syllabus they work to with sessions building up in a similar way, footwork, handling and ball control with their feet. In week 1 keepers will be looking at shot stopping and throwing. The syllabus works towards how we know GKs need to be to make it into the pro clubs at the top level. A short shot stopping guide can be found here. We used this during the summer.
Once a month coaches will report on how the players have done to their head regional coaches, we constantly monitor development.
In 2017/18 four reports will be given out for players and parents to read together.
Our programme also requires players to have a kit, kit gives players the sense of belonging and increases their self-belief and confidence. Please see our shop to purchase your kit. In October all those players with kit will be invited to player in matches with our programme.
We had a great season last year and we are very proud of our achievements. We have already have players trial and be made offers from football league and premier league clubs this season, and so we are ready to start again! We are excited about what we will achieve together.
