Lino de Cruz Sousa was signed by West Brom for U9s and progressed well through the age groups, he starred at the 2019 St Kevins Boys Cup, with West Brom finishing third in the tournament.
Lino is a left footed central defender and is calm and composed on the ball. He brings the ball out of defence and is what you could say is typical of a modern day centre back. He will often anticipate, intercept and pass and driver out with the ball, he can change direction quickly, and has good speed.
Lino is pretty versatile he could also play at left back or in a holding midfield role.
As well as playing for West Brom he is a big part of his school football at Sandwell Academy and he was quickly spotted by England scouts at U14 and in the U15s captained the England side.
Lino is currently one of the hottest properties in English youth football. Scouts from across Europe are tracking Lino’s progress and it will be a challenge for West Brom to hang on to another player with massive potential.
