Louie has already had a pretty interesting career! He came into West Bromwich Albion’s academy at six years of age, despite interest from the other local clubs, Louie signed for the Baggies for the U9 season.
Louie absolute starred through the age groups, flying up the ranks and making himself a U18 regular at 15! Everything looked set for Louie to continue to a scholarship with West Brom but new broke that he was going to La Masia. Not bad, the first Englishman to go at sign for FC Barcelona’s academy.
Barry scored on his debut for Barca’s academy and also was put into the U19 UEFA Youth League, at 16 playing in all three group games. Compensation was set at £130,000 and with some dispute around the total figure, after just six month, he was sold back to England and to West Brom’s midland rivals Aston Villa for a fee of up to £3million. He is still just 16!! Mad right?
Barry has also had International success with England, he was first brought in at 14, and shone above some stop attacking talent. He scored 10 goals in five games for England U15s at a tournament in Italy in 2018, before winning the Golden Boot at the Vale-de-Marne tournament later that year.
Louie is a hard working striker, constantly on the move, loves to counter press and wants to nick the ball high up the field. He is quick, sharp on the turn, and looks to play off the shoulder of the defenders. He loves a ball played through and is cool to finish this situations.
Louie is a good character, a cheeky chappy, popular with the other lads around him. He is a typical goalscoring forward. His game suits the Premier League and if he can continue to impress at Villa in first team training he could get an opportunity to score goals this season.
