Ansu Fati

At 16 Ansu Fati is a first team Barcelona player, almost bizarre to see a young man come in and play so maturely. He came through Sevilla’s academy but has been keenly chased since he was 10 years old.

On his debit against Betis in August 2019 he scored 2 and got an assist. Not a bad way to make a statement. He is the youngest player to pull on a Barcelona shirt and the third youngest ever to score in La Liga.

He has great speed, he threatens in behind the defenders, he is pretty close to being two footed, he feet are quickly and he can dribble in the tightest of areas.

I would suggest first touch, ball control, and playing with his back to goal are the areas to work on. Being able to build his core and hold up the tough defenders can be the next step for him and I am sure he can do that over the next couple of years.

He has good game intelligence, he has good vision for a pass and I think he will be the sort of player who will unlock the tightest of games.

Fati plays with an exciting freedom, clear mind, and in reality now, at 16, the sky is the limit. Lionel Messi said of his team mate “Ansu Fati got my attention from the first time I saw him training” – He has got all our attention and is a very exciting prospect.
