James could be said to be a little under the radar compared to some of the other England 2003’s like Bellingham and Dembele but is potential is still well on track.
James is a tall, strong player, most often used in the centre of midfield. He can easily play box to box, attacking centre mid, or as he gets older he may become a holding midfielder. He is pretty versatile, he has enough speed to play on the wing, he could even end up as a striker. One of those annoying lads who can do it all!!
James loves a 360o spin, he powers past players and uses his body to protect the ball, and has good vision for a little in-between the defenders pass. Despite being tall and powerful his technique is well refined, he has a light touch and throws a lovely Cruyff turn in the middle of the park. He generally uses his right foot, but his left foot is good for his controlling touch and short passing.
Originally Balagizi signed for Manchester City at 9 but the parents moved him to Liverpool at U11 because of a clearer pathway to first team football. James is playing in general at his right age now with the Liverpool U18s. He has played in the UEFA Youth League, FA Youth Cup, and is a fixture in the England group at his age.
