Twenty, Twenty One. Lets Go!

2020, a year we will never forget.

Normally on new years eve you can see the generic ‘New year, new me’ posts along with ‘Next year will be my year’ which this year has been replaced mainly with ‘F*ck 2020’ which in itself tells you how crazy last year really was!

In such nobody knew what the year was going to bring and ultimately, we have to look back and think it was such a hard year for all of us in so many different ways.

Ultimately 2020 is such a painful year for so many, I can’t begin to imagine the pain that some people are going through.  For me 2020 has shown me how lucky I am and that however big your problems may seem there is always someone in a worse situation.

I look back on the year and feel very proud of the work that the ProFormance Global team put in to keep developing youth football players not only in England but it gave us a unique opportunity to work with players across the world without leaving our homes!!

There is so much that I feel we can learn from how we had to adapt across this year that we can now implement alongside what we would usually do to ultimately improve the way we live our lives.

2021 looks as though it will start, in fact it will start, how it ended! There is still a very real threat that at any time, you, me or anyone could get seriously ill. I would love nothing more than to start this year by getting back out and living life as we had become accustomed to. However, this is not yet possible, and together we must do everything we can to stay safe until it is SAFE!

There is light at the end of the tunnel and the unbelievable efforts of scientists mean we could all be vaccinated across the next few months, just imagine the feeling when we are all able to get back out in a safe environment and live our lives as ‘normal’ again!

But imagine if when this happens the people you would like to share this with the most are not with us anymore? Seems a very extreme way to look at it, but honestly, it’s a real danger for us all.

I just wanted to start 2021 with a blog post (hopefully the first of many from me this year) to say Happy New Year but more than anything to say let’s all continue to stay safe, be sensible and get through the next few months so we can enjoy the rest of our lives.

Happy New year, 2021 can and will be great!
Stay Safe.
