Nathan’s full name is Nathan Wood-Gordon, son of former Palace and Middlebrough player Dean Gordon. Nathan was the first 2002 born player to play in a competitive fixture, coming on for Middlesbrough in the League Cup back in August 2018. First team experiences have been limited but he has since made his Championship debut whilst also playing for the England youth teams.
Nathan has a sporting background, taking part in running events in his younger years and didn’t sign for ‘Boro until he was 13. So it was a pretty meteoric rise to play in the first team by 16!
He is a quick player, usually playing at centre back, but because of his pace he has also played at left back and left midfield in youth football. At first team level he is seen as a centre back, he is tall enough, and wins headers as well and throws himself in the way to make a block. Being left footed, focusing on centre back, is probably not a bad idea for his future.
