Luca signed for Bolton at U9, at the time, the club were in their 10th season in a row in the Premier League and comfortable – the family could hardly have imagined what would happen to the club over the following seasons.
But it did not effect Luca, he rose through the ranks and made his first team debut aged 17, and sometimes opportunity comes along to help in the strangest ways. Bolton were in perilous financial difficulty and had to rely on youth and Luca was ready to come into the first team making 10 championship appearances before Celtic snapped him up in the summer of 2019.
Luca could play for England or Ireland but so far has just been focusing on Ireland where he had played games at 17, 18 and 19. Luca could force his way into Celtic’s pre season plans in 2020.
Luca is a left footed player, generally he will play in the holding midfield position where he looks to break up play and pop quick passes with either left or right foot. He can also play on the left of midfield in a flat midfield four.
Luca has a good range of pass on his left and has shown he can also strike a nice shot from the edge of the box. He will have his sites set on first team football and the chance to progress at Celtic.
