Joe originally started his academy journey with AFC Wimbledon but was snapped up by Crystal Palace at 12. By 14 he got the call for England going up to St George’s Park to train with the first cohort of 2004 boys.
Despite being up against Ajax’s Charlie Setford, at the moment at least, he seems to be England’s first pick at his age group.
He is of good height but isn’t the tallest. He is excellent with his feet, as a 12 year old he was posting videos to his own YouTube channel doing round the worlds and all sorts! Great with his right foot, great distribution and loves to start and attack with a quick sidewinder kick.
Of course he makes good saves, but he is very strong to his right side, gets down early and springs up quickly. He has good soft hands and catches really well.
Joe is a good influence on his defend and he is calm and composed. It will be interesting to see what height he gets too but he certainly has great potential and is another one Palace can be proud of coming through.
