Jamal is 17. He plays in the number 10 position. He has made his first team debut for Bayern Munich and won the Bundesliga title. Not bad?
He was born in Germany but moved to England at 7. Originally he was spotted by Southampton but signed for Chelsea at U9.
He was called up for England’s 15s squad at 13 and played in Chelseas 18s at 15. So you can say his rise was pretty rapid. He has now also played for Germany and moved to Bayern Munich at 16. Jamal averaged a goal or an assist every 105 minutes as a member of Bayern’s U17 squad before being promptly promoted to the U19s. He only played in 8 games before being put up to Bayern’s reserve squad before the coronavirus pandemic. When football came back he broke into the first team squad and then made his first team debut coming on for Thomas Muller a match day before Bayern won the Bundesliga title.
Jamal has a slim physique but moves quickly and has great balance. He plays in the 10 role but could easily moved out wide to play right wing or could develop into a forward. He is right footed and is an excellent, creative dribble, likes to take players on 1v1. He is a quick thinker in the final third and will target being an assist king, but he can also become a goalscorer, this really is a player with the world at his feet.
