Charlie attended at AFC Ajax ‘talent day’ age just 7 and signed for AFC Ajax O9. Charlie has excelled at Ajax as a goalkeeper and now finds him as the number 1 pick for the O16 team.
Charlie comes from a sporting background with his Dad being a professional golfer and moving to The Netherlands (from England) to play the sport. Charlie’s younger brother Tommy is the Ajax O14 goalkeeper so we can expect we might see him having his own profile here very soon.
Charlie made his debut for the Dutch national team at his age group on 1st February 2019 saving two penalties. He went on to play for England first in September 2019 and has since played 4 more games for the Three Lions.
Charlie is a good size, he has a muscular frame, and should have no problem developing into the physical profile a keeper needs. His distribution is excellent, comfortable to receive the ball off his defenders, and his distribution with his throwing is really good.
We love Charlie’s personality – he told Ajax’s website “I am someone who also likes to train as if he is number 2. That’s how I get the best out of myself. ” That is the mindset of a winner!
