Bukayo Saka

It is brave to label Bukayo Saka as a midfielder, since breaking into the Arsenal first team, he has pretty much played in all positions. As an academy player he played predominantly as a left winger, and his most stable position in the first team has been at left back, it is likely that his final position is between those two.

Bukayo was snapped up by Arsenal at ten years old. He was sought after at that time being scouted from his grassroots club Greenford Celtic. It was a great win for the Gunners.

Bukayo was always a good player, but perhaps it was a shock when his final push from U18 to first team went so quickly. From making his debut in the 23s in August 2018 he was in the first team by the November.

The youngster hasn’t looked back, putting in consistently good performances and providing key assists and even chipping in with a goal or two from left back.

Bukayo is energetic and hard working, he makes excellent effective decisions. He’s impressed with his ability to cross early, drive up the line, take players on, and provide cut backs. He’s a danger in front of goal with his left foot and his dribbling is excellent. He’s extremely efficient with the ball, intelligent off it and his 1v1 defending has improved.

With a pathway now well established Bukayo’s next goal is to turn England youth success into senior caps, and then, well he has the potential to go right to the top of the game.
