Arthur has been a big name on the goalkeeper seen for years already, a hugely popular member of Arsenal’s academy since he was seven, eventually signing at U9. There was a little stutter when signing his scholarship but Arsenal have always regarded Arthur as having huge potential. He has always fitted the profile and since moving into the 18s and 23s his footwork has seriously improved pushing him towards the very elite.
Arthur has already travelled with the first team and could even be due a new pro contract. It’s always tough to break through as a keeper but Arthur’s performances are banging loudly on the door.
At 14 he was in and around the 18s, at 16 the 23s, and with England he has been there through 14s camps right up to 18s and there’s no reason to think he won’t now go on to the 21s.
Arthur has quick reactions, makes quick point blank saves, he can catch and look to throw to counter. He’s a big presence in-between the sticks, he comes off his line and is brave in 1v1s. I am really impressed how he has improved with the ball at his feet, Arthur is an exciting prospect.
