Respect, an often forgotten word

I heard the question today, “don’t you just wanna see him get nasty?”

This was on a huge media outlet talking about Anthony Joshua. I sat back and thought – NO! No I don’t.
What is wrong with this super althere, on top of the world, and showing respect for your opponent?

Actually what Joshua has done is earn the right to not have to trash talk his opponent, he is so good, and still entertains in the ring, he doesn’t need to call his opponents out. His biggest problem is, actually most people are either running scared, or desperate to tug at his purse strings.

This is a virtue I try a lot to install in my son. Some days that’s easier than others! But……. if we had a few more top sports stars like Anthony Joshua it would make that job a lot easier.

Joshua’s rise to the top has been a movie, from humble begining, through trouble times, big mistakes, but hard work and focus has seen him make something out of himself. We all have our good days and bad days, but whether we are on the up, or having some struggles, be humble and show respect to other people.

The world is a cynical place, full of negative comment, but hopefully we will move to a better time of perspective, positivity and of course RESPECT.
