Logan first went to Sunderland at the age of 7 and signed from their pre academy at U9. At 15 he broke in Sunderlands U18 side but hasn’t yet had the chance to step up to the first team.
He made his debut for England Under 16s at left back in a tournament in Turkey catching the attention of clubs around England. He has just signed for Manchester United joining a really talent bunch of 2003 born player there. With a host of clubs interested in him he probably will earn Sunderland more than selling one of their first team players these days.
Logan plays left back but he has a good physical build which mean he can also play centre back and is the ideal candidate to play left in a back three. Logan loves to defend, takes pride in a block tackle, or winning a physical battle to steal the ball back. He defends on the front foot and will try and win the ball early and set the team on a counter attack, generally playing quick passes once he’s won the ball. Now with England he is also used to being calm on the ball and playing out from the back. He has showed he can adapt to different styles.
Whilst the North East doesn’t get a lot of attention in academy football, Sunderland have now moved on Logan, as well as other big potential England talents Sam Greenwood (Arsenal), Luca Stephenson (Liverpool), Luke Hewitson (Liverpool) and Joe Hugill (Man Utd).
